3 Places To Get a Good Coffee in Buenos Aires

Coffee has been one of my longtime constant loves.  I have been drinking it since the age of 14 and since then I’ve been hooked. Back then I could drink any kind of coffee, it wasn’t until the age of 23 when I moved to Melbourne and was spoiled with great coffee on every corner that my habit changed forever.

So when I first moved to Buenos Aires and fell in love with Argentina I was slightly concerned that I didn’t love the coffee so much. Lucky for me, great places to get coffee in Buenos Aires have been springing up like nobody’s business lately.

So without further preamble here, in order of preference, are my picks…

+ All Saints, Ciudad de La Paz 2300, Belgrano

This is my favourite in part because its close to my house and also because the coffee is so good and the place is so cosy. There are sofas where you can lounge about and stay as long as you like. They do all kinds of fancy coffees and on hot summer days I love their iced coffee. They also sell and grind beans so you can take make it at home.

+ Full City Coffee House, Thames 1535, Palermo Soho

This is another fav, not just for the coffee but also the food. This is the only place I know in Buenos Aires where you can get an english fry. My only complaint about Full City is that recently I have gone and haven’t been able to get a seat, it’s that popular. Still there is always space for a takeaway.

+ In Bocca Al Lupo, Bonpland 1965, Palermo Hollywood

I love this place, I just wish I lived close to it. This place does Italian food and coffee which is great because I love all things Italian and have done since I was a kid. I love the language, the personality of the country, the people and most importantly I love the food. In Bocca Al Lupo does not disappoint with regard to food but the real shinning star is their coffee. So smooth and silky. Order it with a Nutella stuffed pastry and you’ll walk away one happy customer.

Those are my favourite places but there are many more, here are some other great places to  check out:

+ Lattente, Thames 1891, Palermo Soho
+ Birkin, Republica Arabe Siria 3061, Palermo Chico
+ Lab Tostadores, Humboldt 1542, Palermo Hollywood
+ Coffee Town, Bolivar 976, San Telmo (inside the San Telmo market)
+ Felix Felices & Co, Jose Antonio Cabrera 5002, Palermo Soho
+ Ninina, Gorriti 4738, Palermo Soho

Now I am off to make some coffee and get this week started…
